The Alpha Type 1 magazine is constructed to accept (10) ten-rounds of 308 / 762x51 NATO ammunition. The Type 1 magazine is designed to be used as an direct alternative to the AICS/AE series rifle magazine. These magazines also fit and function with the AX Series rifle. If your rifle chassis or drop bottom metal accepts AICS/AE series magazine, the Alpha magazine will interface and function.
This magazine is popular with shooters who use Badger, McRee, XLR, Pacific Tool & Guage, Stealth, CDI metal, Ruger Precision Rifle as well as many others.
The main advantage of the Alpha Type 1 magazine is its compact size. Currently used by the USMC with the M40A5 rifle deployed.
This is accomplished by utilizing a double column single feed design. Unlike other bolt action magazines that use a single stack single feed system, the Alpha magazine is coil fed and rounds are staggered in the box requiring less space to accommodate (10) ten-rounds of ammunition. This is a huge advantage when using a bi-pod or shooting from a low ( prone ) position. One of the engineering goals with the Alpha design was met with this concept, not having to break position or take eyes off target to change out a magazine.
The maximum overall length ( COAL ) of the Alpha Type 1 magazine is 2.920.
This magazine is constructed with a spacer plate similar to the AICS/AE magazine. If you are running the popular Remington 700 Short Action, use this magazine for factory out of box ammunition.
100% American Made.
